Ponydale
Ponydale is a village located next to a river that leads to the Evershade Forest. Thick straw-roofed cottages populate the village, with a significant population of earth pony inhabitants. The area is primarily a hangout spot for players taking a break after exploring the Gem Mines or the Evershade Forest.
Getting there
Ponydale may be accessed via train from Cantermore, The Frontier, or the Crystal Kingdom. Players traveling from Cantermore may also walk to Ponydale via The Heartlands.
Additionally, a Ponydale Teleport Crystal enables immediate access to Ponydale from anywhere in Equestria.
Places of interest
Sugarcane Corner
Sugarcane Corner is a confectionery shop located in the heart of Ponydale with a distinctive gingerbread house exterior. Inside, players may find Cooking stations, and a live radio feed of PonyvilleFM playing non-stop music from the Brony community.
Sweet Apple Orchard
Sweet Apple Orchard is a farm just west of the train station in Ponydale. Players can find two Farming planters there, as well as low-leveled Bunnies for players wishing to train combat.
Gem Mines
The Gem Mines is a cave system on the northeastern outskirts of the village. Low-leveled Husky Diamond Dogs patrol this mine, making this place an ideal location for new players training combat. Low- to mid-level ores can also be found inside the cave for ponies to mine with the Mining talent.
The Town Hall
Ponydale's town hall is the most iconic building within Ponydale, rising above most other structures in the vicinity. Other than being a landmark to aid players in local navigation, the town hall holds no other purpose.
The Boutique
The Boutique is a clothing store with a carousel-inspired design. Found near the southeast corner of the village, the merchant NPC Marvell can be found inside selling clothes, as well as fabrics essential for Artisan crafting.
Ponydale Library
Ponydale Library can be found in the northwestern region of the town, near the train station. The structure is built directly into a large tree, with a bedroom on the upper level. Players may research and craft Science items in the library's basement.
Ponydale Park
The Park can be found on the east side of Ponydale. Dancer can be found here giving out dandelions. A portal to White Tail Park can be found in the middle of a ring of mushrooms near him.
Miscellaneous
- Waterfall Tree: South of the train station is a Waterfall Tree, which allows players to fill empty Glasses with water to create Water for Cooking. Unicorns may also craft Vapor Materia at the top of the tree.
- Clover Cafe: In the northeast part of Ponydale is Clover Cafe, which hosts several Cooking equipment: a Cutting Board, Blender, Mixing Bowl and an Oven.
- Resonance's Workstation: Resonance has an outdoor Artisan workstation located just outside the Gem Mines, northeast of the village. Players may find a Forge, Workbench, and Harmony Pedestal there.
Merchants
Buttercup
Buttercup can be found within the Auction House west of Sugarcane Corner. She sells miscellaneous cosmetics along with Brass armor, Nickel armor, and Gold armor sets. She also sells Checkered Socks and Ice Skates.
Granny Grey
Granny Grey is an elderly greengrocer found just east of the Town Hall. She sells Apples of all colors, as well as Apple Juice.
Linguine
Linguine stands at the entrance of the Clover Cafe, and sells Glasses for 25 bits apiece.
Resonance
Resonance can be found at the entrance to the Gem Mines. She sells various Mining equipment, including the Dowsing Crystal and pickaxes from Brass to Diamond. She also sells several Artisan crafting manuals.
Quests
- Dandelion Tamer is given by Maplesweet outside the flower shop across the street from Sugarcane Corner.
- Dust and Bunnies is given by Polly Poppet, across the river east of Ponydale.
- Foal Life Consequences is given by Frizzy Stradlin outside the Ponydale Schoolhouse just west of Sugarcane Corner.
- Knead for Speed is given by Linguine outside of the Clover Cafe.
- Mindless Violins is given by Midnight Breeze, who is under a tree near the Ponydale Schoolhouse.
- Sock it to 'em is given by Stocking Stuffer near Sugarcane Corner. (Christmas exclusive quest)
- Supplying the Hospital is given by Nurse Coldhoof, who is outside the hospital in southwest Ponydale.
- Tomorrow, Spring is Here is given by Check List, who is in front of the town hall. (Winter Warm-Up Event Quest)
- Tonic's Tonic is given by Tonic near the water tree, close to the Hospital.
Trivia
- In early versions of the game, a Pac-Man like game could be accessed by entering a well near Sugarcane Corner. A pegasus racing game involving hoops was also present. Both minigames have been removed as they have been deemed nonessential for core gameplay.
- Between Open Server Events 8 and 9, the map orientation for Ponydale was rotated 180 degrees. Previously, the river was on the north and west and the railroad on the east.
