Animal Care

Animal Care, sometimes shortened to Animal in-game, is an earth pony-exclusive Talent that allows players' pets to gain unique skills, most notably in combat.

Gaining experience

Experience in Animal Care can be gained by earth ponies through the completion of quests, most of which award experience to all talents. Using Animal Care related skills while in combat also allows earth pony players to gain Animal Care XP.

Skills

Animal Care skills mostly focus on improving a Pet's combat abilities. Players without pets may still use Home Field Advantage to deal damage and gain XP.

All skills are awarded for free when completing the Animal Talent Mark quest One Pet in the Hoof.

	Guidance	500	Improves the combat abilities of the player's pet. The base ability has no effect, but upgrades can increase the pet's Health or number of combat skills.
	Home Field Advantage	20	Area-of-effect damage-over-time attack. Costs 40 , deals -35 /s (soothing) for up to 5 s to enemies in range, and slows them by 5%. Upgrades are available to increase the range, damage, and slow effect.
	Friends Forever	20	Provides buffs to the player and pet when cast. The base ability Costs 35 and provides 8 for 15 s. Upgrades are available to heal the pet, player, temporarily raise health regeneration, maximum health, or armor and magic resist.

Specialization

Players can specialize in the Animal Care talent by completing the quest One Pet in the Hoof at the end of their Foal Story Arc.

Talent mastery

The maximum possible level that can be achieved in Animal Care is 50.
