Batmare!
Batmare! is a quest that can be obtained by speaking to Twilight Turner in The Frontier. The player has to help Twilight to not transform into a bat.
Quest initiation
Twilight Turner can be found behind the Applewood train station in The Frontier.
When talking to Twilight Turner, she hisses and tells the player to stay away because she's a bat. After the player tells her that she does not look like a bat, she answers that the transformation process into a vampire fruitbat isn't complete. She calls her transformation an ironic twist because friends in school tease her by calling her "Batmare" because her coat, mane and eyes have the colors of a bat, she has wings and her name is Twilight. The player asks why she thinks she will turn into a bat and she replies that one of them bit her. After the player tells her that this will not turn her into a bat, she replies that the player does not know for sure. If the player asks whether they can help or not, Twilight says no, unless the player can find some kind of cure. The player is asked to go to Doctor Point Dexter and ask if there is a cure. He is a psychiatrist but her mom said his name sounded like a vampire, so he might know how to cure Twilight.
Journal: I have encountered a pony in the Applewood apple orchard who seems convinced that she is about to turn into a vampire bat. While dubious of her claims, I have agreed to ask the local expert about a possible cure for vampirism on her behalf.

Talking to Point Dexter
Point Dexter offers help with ponies turning into vampires. He asks what kind of vampire players "friend" will turn into. When the player says that it's a vampire bat, Dexter replies that a bite from a bat cannot turn you into a bat. Dexter says that this behaviour usually is due to something bad happening in Twilights life. Player can mention that classmates call her a bat, which Dexter takes as the source of the problem. Dexter wants to sing:
(Dexter)"Ven I vas a little med student, I had my share of feeeaaaarrrrsss..."
(Player)"Tell me you're not..."
(Dexter)"(You asked, little vun!) My host of great ideas vere all met vis rousing jeeeeeeeerrrrrrrsss..."
(Player)"You are."
(Dexter)"I'd get up from my desk unt run into ze hall, but mein professor said zat vasn't ze vay to deal vic bullies at aaaaaaallllllll..."
(Player)"Then what is?"
(Dexter)"He said, Dexter, you've got to show zem up, learn to respect yourself, you'll see zat if you do it, zen zey'll all start to do it tooooooooooo..."
(Player option) Keep singing.
(Dexter)"Sooooo...giggle at ze bully!" (Dexter)"...And zat's all I've got so far, it's hard to rhyme verds vis synonyms for 'bully'."
Journal: The local psychiatrist, Point Dexter, informed me that turning into a vampire bat is impossible, and hinted at what the real problem might be. I should return to Twilight Turner with this information.

Talking to Twilight again
Twilight Turner feels fangs coming in. Player can say that Twilight is not going to turn into a bat and she should get the bite looked at. Twilight feels like a fool and says that the ponies in school would've preferred that. The player can say that she should just ignore those foals. They are just taking out their frustration about their own insecurities on her to distract themselves from their own problems. The player says that Twilight is perfect just the way she is and other ponies think that as well. Twilight thanks the player and says she has nothing to give in return. The player can say that she should just do what the player said and they will be even.
The player receives 250 universal XP.
Journal: I have informed Twilight Turner that it is impossible for one to turn into a bat. After giving her some advice on how to deal with bullies, she thanked me and we parted ways.
